A large oil refinery will soon be put into operation in Batken region. The Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The Minister Taalaibek Ibraev got acquainted with the construction of the plant with a capacity of 500 tons per day of Kyrgyz-Turk K-NeftGas OJSC in Kok-Talaa village, Kadamdzhai district of Batken region, which is being carried out as part of a project for the joint development of North Sokh and Chongara Galcha oil fields.
An agreement on joint implementation activities was signed between Kyrgyztransneftegaz State Enterprise and Kyrgyz-Turk K-NeftGaz OJSC (Turkey) on March 23, 2023 in order to implement the project on the joint development of Tunduk Sokh and Chongara Galcha oil fields.
More than 90 percent of construction work has been completed to date. Repair and preparatory work is underway at four oil wells.
Estimated completion and commissioning of the refinery is scheduled for the end of September 2024.
The Minister of Energy instructed the relevant managers to ensure high-quality and timely completion of the construction work.
