EFSD to finance economic projects in the Kyrgyz Republic

The Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD), as part of the first medium-term strategy for 2022-2026, supports financing of economic transformation programs in the amount of $160 million for Kyrgyzstan. The fund’s website says.

Programs of Armenia and Tajikistan for $200 million are also under consideration.

«$160 million was allocated to Kyrgyzstan for these purposes; two programs for $100 million each for Armenia and Tajikistan are under consideration,» TASS notes.

Currently, another program to promote institutional change in Kyrgyzstan is under consideration by the fund. It also provides technical assistance and support to member countries for structural and institutional changes.

As the press service reported, the first medium-term strategy of the EFSD was approved by all participating states in 2022. When developing the document, country strategies were taken into account and, after an analysis carried out by the fund’s experts, appropriate goals and objectives were identified taking into account national development priorities, as well as the financial resources of the fund.
