Emergencies Ministry warns of possible mudflows in some areas of Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan warned of possible mudflows due to unstable weather and expected heavy rains in the mountainous and foothill regions of the republic.

According to the forecast of the Department of Monitoring and Forecasting of Emergency Situations, mudflows and rockfalls on the roads may be registered from July 5 to July 7 in Leilek, Batken and Kadamdzhai districts of Batken region, Nookat, Alai and Chon-Alai districts of Osh region, in Ak-Suu, Jeti-Oguz, Issyk-Kul, Tyup and Ton districts of Issyk-Kul region, in Panfilov, Zhaiyl and Kemin districts of Chui region, in Dzhumgal, Kochkor and Naryn districts.

Mudflows and rockfalls may occur on the following sections of roads:
  • On the 285th, 342-348th, 358-362nd, 400th, 411-426th kilometers of Bishkek — Osh road;
  • On the 64-65th, 68-70th, 78-80th, 100th, 106th, 121-124th, 133rd kilometers of Osh — Sary-Tash — Irkeshtam highway;
  • On the 112-128th kilometers of Bishkek — Balykchy highway (Boom gorge);
  • On the 64-117th kilometers of Balykchi — Bokonbaevo road;
  • On the 4-5th kilometers of Taldy-Suu — Aral road;
  • On the 64-78th, 125-138th, 149-190th kilometers of Osh — Razzakov highway.
