Akylbek Japarov tells members of Investment Council about key strategic projects

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov held a regular meeting of the Investment Council. The press service of the Cabinet reported.

Four issues were considered, the results of participation of the Kyrgyz delegation in the International Investment Energy Forum in Vienna (Austria) were summarized, measures to increase investment in Kyrgyzstan and increase export potential were considered. The meeting participants also heard information on the results of the activities of the Public-Private Partnership Center under the National Agency for Investment under the President for five months of 2024.

The head of the Cabinet told the members of the Council about preparations for the start of construction of two key strategic projects: Kambarata HPP-1 and China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

These projects are of great importance for economic and investment development of Kyrgyzstan, providing energy independence, improving transport infrastructure and creating new jobs.

«Construction of Kambarata HPP-1 and the railway are significant projects. We are confident that these projects will change the economic landscape of Kyrgyzstan and contribute to improving the quality of life of our citizens,» he said.

Information on the issues on the agenda of the meeting was also heard. Akylbek Japarov gave a number of instructions, including to publish on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Agency for Investment under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic the necessary background information in several foreign languages, as well as the basic legal framework for investors, including the new Tax Code.

In addition, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers instructed to step up the work on attracting direct investments, as well as to include the issue in the agenda of the meeting of the Board of the Presidential Executive Office.
