We informed the Secretary-General of the organization in detail about the initiatives and activities to protect the interests of mountainous countries on the path to sustainable development. 2022 has been declared the International Year of Sustainable Mountain Development. In the same year, a resolution of the UN General Assembly was adopted, within the framework of which the years 2023-2027 were proclaimed as the Five Years of Action for the Development of Mountain Regions. With the support of the Mountain Partnership Secretariat at FAO, a global action plan has been developed, and work is underway to create a trust fund,» the head of the Foreign Ministry said.
