Salaries of health workers to be increased by 50 percent from September 1

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, at a meeting on increasing wages for health workers, signed a Decree «On the conditions of payment to workers of the healthcare system and social hospital institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic.» The press service of the head of state reported.

The document was signed in order to improve the system of remuneration of medical workers, health care organizations of the country.

Sadyr Japarov noted that based on the Decree, from September 1, 2024, the salaries of medical personnel will be increased by 50 percent, paramedical personnel — by 20 percent, junior service personnel and ambulance drivers — by 10 percent.

The President gave an example: if previously a general surgeon working in remote regions of the republic earned 20,136 soms, then after the salary increase and compensation of 20,000, he or she will receive 50,205 soms. An anesthesiologist and resuscitator who receives 35,481 soms will earn 73,222 soms. A pediatrician earning 32,474 soms will receive 68,709 soms. Previously, the stipend of a resident medical practitioner was 1,200 soms. From July 1, its size will be 20,000.

Sadyr Japarov stressed that the signed Decree is aimed at supporting healthcare workers, who play an important role in ensuring the health of the nation.

Earlier, at a meeting of the Committee on Social Policy of the Parliament, Deputy Minister of Health Mederbek Ismailov said that doctors’ salaries would be increased by 50 percent starting from September this year.
