President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed the Law «On the ratification of the agreement between the Government of the PRC, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on cooperation in joint promotion of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, signed on June 6, 2024 in Beijing.»
The document was adopted by the Parliament on June 19.
The law will allow to begin practical implementation of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project. Its implementation will have an overall positive social and economic effect in the development of the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The purpose of the document is to carry out the internal state procedures necessary for the entry into force of the agreement.
The new railway corridor will become the southern branch of the Eurasian continental bridge and will open access to the markets of Southeast, Western Asia and the Middle East, including Turkey and further the European Union.
The project will ensure increased competitiveness in the international transit transportation market by reducing the distance and time of cargo delivery.
