Kyrgyzstan signs in China project on construction of solar power plant

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with President of TBEA Co. Ltd Zhang Xin during his working trip to Urumqi city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. The press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

The parties discussed projects previously implemented by the company on the modernization of the Bishkek heating and power plant, Datka-Kemin high-voltage power transmission line and the construction of a substation, projects to improve power lines in the southern regions of the republic and future plans.

Akylbek Japarov noted the importance of the projects implemented by TBEA for the republic and called on the company to participate in the development of renewable energy projects in Kyrgyzstan. One of the areas of cooperation is the introduction of technologies for charging electric vehicles and installation of appropriate devices.

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers also met with Lu Tiezhong, Vice Chairman of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC).

They discussed issues in the field of energy industry, in particular, the construction of solar power plants, as well as prospects for the implementation of projects in other sectors of the economy.

As a result of the meeting, an investment project on the construction of a solar power plant with a total capacity of 400 megawatts at Kara-Talaa site in Issyk-Kul region was signed between Fortis KG LLP, National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan OJSC and the Green Energy Fund under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
