A mudflow swept away a five-year-old boy in Kadamdzhai district. He died. The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
According to it, the mudflow occurred in Batken and Leilek districts on June 24 after heavy rains.
As a result, the mud mass destroyed five reinforced concrete bridges in Okhna village. Ak-Turpak, Moldo Niyaz and Iskhak-Polotkhan villages were flooded. Water flooded the basement of a kindergarten in Ergenek district, the courtyard of the regional hospital, kindergarten in Zhenish village, and the Satylganov secondary school.
Emergency Situations Ministry employees rescued three children and two local residents, their condition is stable.
A video was posted on social media saying that a mudflow swept away a pharmacy, a shipping container and a Porter mini-truck in Iskhak-Polotkhan rural area of Kadamdzhai district.
