At least 11 local residents publicly renounced the ideology of the religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir in Bek-Abad village, Suzak district of Jalal-Abad region. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

«The citizens were involved in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir and adhered to extremist ideology. They recognized the fallacy of their chosen religious direction and called on others not to give in to the illegal calls of Hizb ut-Tahrir members,» the statement says.

19-year-old and 16-year-old girl, adherents of the banned religious extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir, were detained in the same village because on the night of May 30 they burned state flags and replaced them with white cloths with Arabic inscriptions.
