241,000 Kyrgyzstanis returned from abroad for two years - Nurlanbek Shakiev

«Every day more and more Kyrgyzstanis return home from abroad. Over the past two years, their number reached 241,000 people,» Speaker of the Parliament, Nurlanbek Shakiev, said, speaking at the opening of Selya garment factory, built in Sumsar village, Jalal-Abad region.

According to the press service of the Parliament, at the ceremony the Speaker, telling about reforms in the country, gave examples of the opening of many industrial facilities, which became possible thanks to the efforts of the state and creative citizens.

He emphasized that this creates favorable conditions for work of our citizens in their homeland and reduces the migration flow. He noted that thanks to the initiative of businesswoman Asel Atabekova, the dilapidated building was turned into a production workshop in a short time.

«This enterprise not only provides villagers with jobs, but also helps replenish the local budget. Such achievements in the regions are of great importance for the development of the entire republic,» Nurlanbek Shakiev noted.

The Speaker appealed to the head of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, Artyom Novikov, who provided financial support for the construction of the factory, with an appeal to pay attention not only to projects in large cities such as Bishkek and Osh, but also in villages.

The garment factory building used to belong to a plant that has not worked since 1991. In 2023, this premises were put up for auction by entrepreneur Asel Atabekova and renovated. She invested 51,796 million soms in the plant.

Further, Nurlanbek Shakiev also visited a school in Sumsar village. The building for 360 students was commissioned in 1961. In 1988, it was planned to build an additional educational building for 250 students, but the construction was frozen in 1990.

Currently, 662 students attend the educational institution in two shifts. Funds have been allocated from the Chatkal District Development Fund and major renovations of the old school have begun. However, local residents turned to the Speaker with a request to resolve the issue of construction of a new educational institution.

Nurlanbek Shakiev instructed Deputy Director of the State Agency for Architecture, Construction, Housing and Communal Services Talantbek Imanakun uulu to develop a project of a new school and include the necessary funds in the budget in 2025.
