Stefan Tarkovic leaves post of coach of the national football team of Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) reported on social media.
«For almost 14 months, Stefan Tarkovic has successfully accomplished all the tasks set for him. Football players got the opportunity to work with a European specialist of high class. The next stage and new, more difficult tasks are ahead,» KFU noted.
Recall, his contract with the Kyrgyz Football Union was concluded until June 30, 2024. The management of KFU, after thorough internal consultations, decided to terminate cooperation after the expiration of the agreement. Together with the head coach, entire coaching staff leaves the national team.
KFU President Kamchybek Tashiev met with all members of the coaching staff led by Stefan Tarkovic. During the meeting, the head of the Union announced the decision made, and also expressed personally, on behalf of himself and the entire football community of the country, sincere gratitude for the professional work done, justified expectations and trust.
The national team of Kyrgyzstan secured a berth at the 2027 Asian Cup and got an opportunity to continue the fight for participation in the 2026 World Cup.
