First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev announced at a meeting of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Judicial, Legal Issues and Regulations of the Parliament that 3,928 municipal employees would be laid off.
According to him, 8,696 municipal employees currently work in the territorial bodies of the country.
«After the reduction of aiyl aimaks due to their merger, only 4,768 employees will remain. The saving of the republican budget is 1,796 million soms per year,» the official said.
There are 452 aiyl aimaks in the republic now. After the administrative territorial reform, their number will be reduced to 235.
