Additional loan to be taken from World Bank for Digital CASA project

The Ministry of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan will receive additional $7 million from the International Development Association (World Bank) for Digital CASA project. Ratification of the agreement was approved by the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan in the second reading.

According to Deputy Minister of Digital Development Zamirbek Kozhomuratov, IDA will provide an interest-free loan for 50 years with a 10-year grace period.

He told that the need to seek additional funding for the project arose due to the fact that the project was drawn up in 2021, but the needs and requirements have been growing since then.

It should be noted that additional funding is needed for the implementation of the second component of the project, which includes the creation of a state cloud storage.

This is a platform that will unite the information resources of all government agencies into a single center for storing and processing data. It will allow public services to be provided to citizens safely and uninterruptedly.

The cost of the entire project is $50 million, half of which the World Bank provides as a grant.
