The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union decided to continue work on amending the law of the EAEU, providing for the introduction of a ban on GMO (genetically modified organism) seeds. The Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to the ministry, it is proposed to impose a ban on the import of the most common GMO seeds of corn, sugar beets, rapeseed, soybeans, and tomatoes.
Manufacturers and importers of seeds are asked to comply with the requirements of laws banning the circulation of GMO seeds in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
