Organized crime group member blackmails, extorts money from Bishkek resident

A citizen, 34, registered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, who blackmailed and extorted money from a local resident, was detained in Bishkek. The press service of the ministry reported.

According to its data, the criminal was wanted for committing a crime under Article 208 «Extortion» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

«He, having learned about some debt of the victim, came to his home and, exerting physical pressure, began to threaten. Thus, the criminal received about 65,000 soms. But he did not stop there and started to demand 100,000 more soms. He was detained when receiving 30,000 soms,» the statement says.
