Students from Pakistan not receive proper medical education in Kyrgyzstan

As part of the Global Health Security Summit in Islamabad (Pakistan), the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev met with his Pakistani counterpart Nadeem Jan. The press center of the Ministry of Health reported.

According to it, the parties discussed issues of organizing the medical education system, cooperation between higher medical educational institutions, as well as new prospects for the development and strengthening of ties in the fields of healthcare, medical education and pharmaceuticals.

Nadeem Jan expressed the opinion that students from Pakistan who study at medical universities of the Kyrgyz Republic do not receive education at the proper level and then cannot pass certification in Pakistan. «Therefore, we would like to cooperate and direct our joint efforts to resolve this issue,» he said.

Alymkadyr Beishenaliev told about his readiness to check the work of those medical universities in Kyrgyzstan that do not provide the appropriate knowledge, and also, if necessary, to transfer students from them (at their request) to other educational institutions that meet the requirements. In addition, he proposed to develop a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministries of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and Pakistan for a more productive continuation of the bilateral partnership, in particular in the development of medical education.

Nadeem Jan noted that they are ready, for their part, together with the Pakistan Medical Council, to consider the proposal to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on issues related to medical education.
