Weather alert: Avalanches possible in mountainous areas

Avalanches, snow and glaze ice are expected in mountainous areas of Kyrgyzstan from January 11 to January 12. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

Avalanches and snowstorms are forecast on the following roads:

• On the 121-138^th kilometers of Bishkek — Osh highway on Too-Ashuu pass;
• On the 198-255^th kilometers of the same road in Chychkan gorge (Ala-Bel pass);
• On the 55-115^th kilometers of Myrza-Ake — Kara-Kuldzha — Alaikuu road;
• On the 68^th-101^st kilometers of Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kiya road;
• On the 0-2^nd kilometers of Krasnaya Gorka — Aktash road.

«It is necessary to strictly keep the distance between vehicles of 500 meters. Going on a long trip, do not forget to take with you anti-skid chains, shovel and the first aid kit,» the ministry reminded.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations asks to call 112 in case of emergencies.
