Supporters of Imamidin Tashov and Tilekmat Kurenov detained

Active associates of Imamidin Tashov and Tilekmat Kurenov in an attempted coup were detained. The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

The fact of preparation for mass unrest in Kyrgyzstan with the subsequent violent seizure of power by Imamidin Tashov and Tilekmat Kurenov (Tilekmat Kudaibergen uulu) was revealed.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of crimes under Articles 326 and 245 «Forcible seizure of power», «Abuse of powers by employees of commercial or other organizations» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Currently, Imamidin Tashov and Tilekmat Kurenov are hiding from the investigation and are wanted as part of the criminal case.

«Dozens of supporters and active associates of Imamidin Tashov and Tilekmat Kurenov from various regions of the country have been identified. They were interrogated and gave exhaustive testimony. In particular, information was received on the financing of preparatory and organizational activities by Imamidin Tashov,» the SCNS noted.

Certain key figures involved in criminal plans to overthrow the government were detained.

It is reported that a citizen M.A.I. was supposed to fulfill the role of coordinator in Osh and Jalal-Abad regions, gather and organize people for mass protests on various grounds (any socio-economic tension, cash registers issues, e-consignment notes and others), his tasks also included distributing money and organizing transportation of people to Bishkek.

Citizen K.A.K. was also brought from Talas region and detained. Her main function was to organize money transfers from various people to the United States. Moreover, several facts of transfer of large amounts of money to her name from Imamidin Tashov were revealed.

As a result of searches at the place of residence of Imamidin Tashov, large amounts of funds, luxury cars and other material assets were discovered and confiscated.

Currently, investigative and operational measures are being carried out to establish all the circumstances and detain other persons involved in organizing the coup.
