A total of 1,323 million tons of coal was extracted by Kyrgyzkomur state enterprise in 2023. The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided the data.
It is noted that originally it was planned to produce 750,000 tons of solid fuel. The plan was overfulfilled 1.7 times.
«To provide the population with coal, six coal bases were opened in Bishkek. In total, there are 42 of them in major cities of the country. Work has been established at Kara-Keche deposit; a video surveillance system has been installed and an electronic barrier has been put into operation to regulate queues. In addition, since January 1, 2024, cashless payments or electronic payments have been introduced at Kara-Keche,» the statement says.
