Villages in Batken, Jalal-Abad and Issyk-Kul regions to be renamed

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed the law on renaming some aiyl aimaks and villages of Batken, Jalal-Abad and Issyk-Kul regions. Press service of the head of state reported.

The document was adopted by the Parliament on November 29, 2023 in order to strengthen the national ideology and return to aiyl aimaks and villages geographical names that were widely known in the past and present.

The law provides for the renaming of:

  • Kotormo aiyl aimak in Kadamdzhai district, Batken region into Moldo Niyaz aiyl aimak;
  • Nazaralievsky aiyl aimak in Aksy district, Jalal-Abad region into Uch-Korgon aiyl aimak;
  • Semenovsky aiyl aimak in Issyk-Kul district, Issyk-Kul region into Kozhoyar aiyl aimak;
  • Desh village of Saidykum aiyl aimak in Bazar-Korgon district of Jalal-Abad region into Tynchtyk village;
  • Dukur village of Saidykum aiyl aimak in Bazar-Korgon district of Jalal-Abad region into Dostuk village;
  • Chek village of Saidykum aiyl aimak in Bazar-Korgon district of Jalal-Abad region into Yntymak village;
  • Komsomolskoye village of Yrdyk aiyl aimak of Jeti-Oguz district, Issyk-Kul region into Kytai village;
  • Semenovka village of Semenovsky aiyl aimak of Issyk-Kul district, Issyk-Kul region, into Kozhoyar-Ata village.

The document comes into force ten days from the date of its official publication.
