Construction of General Medical Practice Center building completed in Uch-Korgon

The building of children’s intensive care, medical and consultative departments of Uch-Korgon General Medical Practice Center has been put into operation. The press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

According to its data, construction began in 2018, but later stopped. The work resumed in 2023, when 58 million soms were allocated from the republican budget. Furniture and medical equipment have been also purchased.

The building with an area of 1,560 square meters houses a children’s department with 12 beds, a children’s intensive care unit with 6 beds, and a medical and consultation department (polyclinic) on the first floor.

The Uch-Korgon General Medical Practice Center was founded in 1928 as a district hospital. At present it functions in the building constructed for the boarding school in 1960-1980s. It provides medical care to 65,000 residents and consists of maternity, surgical, infectious disease, intensive care, therapeutic, pediatric departments, pediatric intensive care unit, as well as branches Markaz and Kara-Zhygach, 12 Family Doctors Groups, and six medical and obstetric centers.
