Instead of the Eastern bus station it is planned to organize a multi-storey car parking. The corresponding draft resolution was published on the website of the Bishkek City Council.
The City Hall reminds that more than 1,00 vehicles carrying passengers enter the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic from the regions and neighboring countries every day. This leads to congestion, worsens the environmental sitaution and appearance of Bishkek. Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers plans to locate the Eastern and Western bus stations outside the city.
To solve the problem of traffic jams, the City Hall proposes to place a multi-storey car parking on the territory of the Eastern bus station; to lay a park; to maintain in proper condition the building of the Eastern bus station, which is on the state list of historical and cultural monuments of national importance.
It is specified that the state property is transferred to local self-government bodies in case of necessity to solve issues of local importance.
Therefore, the draft resolution of the Bishkek City Council provides for consent to the acceptance of the Eastern bus station with a land plot of 1.3153 hectares into municipal ownership.
