Foreigner robbed on his way from Manas airport

A foreigner, who arrived in Bishkek, got into the car of an unknown person, who introduced himself as a cab driver, and was robbed. The Department of Internal Affairs of Chui region reported.

According to it, a man was detained on suspicion of committing a robbery attack on a foreigner.

Citizen of a foreign country contacted the police, who asked to take action against the driver. Being at Manas airport, the latter, offering cab services, promised to take him to Bishkek. He put the passenger into his Hyundai Sonata car and, before reaching his destination, attacked the foreigner. Threatening him with a knife, he took away his money and fled.

A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Article 207 «Robbery» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As a result of investigative measures, the suspect was detained. He was placed in a temporary detention center. The investigation continues.
