The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan and the World Health Organization signed the first seven-year Country Cooperation Strategy until 2030. The ministry’s press center reported.

The new strategy includes three directions and seven priority areas.

Particular attention will be paid to cardiovascular diseases, mental health, emergency response, antimicrobial resistance, environmental medicine and chemical safety, attraction of human resources to rural areas, and digitalization of data.

The ministry added that the strategy also focuses on strengthening primary health care and improving access to healthcare services in areas such as HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, immunization and maternal, newborn and child health. It will be synchronized with the National Healthcare Development Program until 2030.

«The cooperation strategy that we are signing today is truly innovative. This will not only strengthen our work on health protection and well-being in Kyrgyzstan in seven key areas over the next seven years, but will also demonstrate the republic’s role beyond its borders in advancing initiatives including the health-focused Mountain Program, the Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer, Subregional diplomacy within the framework of the road map for health and well-being in Central Asia for 2022-2025,» Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe, said.

«We are confident that the new stage of our cooperation, marked by the signing of this strategy, will play an important role in the development of the healthcare system of Kyrgyzstan and will ensure the appropriate quality of medical care for the citizens of our country,» the Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
