«Co-payment for hospitalization of citizens without medical insurance has been increased from 2,980 soms to 14,500 soms, but people do not tell about this,» deputy Maksatbek Sarbagyshev said at a meeting of the Parliament.
He noted that Kyrgyzstanis living in the regions cannot afford hospitalization in national centers for 14,500 soms.
«I visited the National Hospital. There are people crying at the entrance. Doctors tell them to pay for insurance, they are ready to do it. But health insurance certificate comes into force only five days after the purchase. What if during this time the patient dies or is discharged from the hospital. Have you thought about this?» Maksatbek Sarbagyshev said.
A representative of the Ministry of Health confirmed that this year the amount of co-payment in hospitals for uninsured citizens was increased to 14,500 soms.
«But if they have insurance certificate, then they pay only 830 soms. Therefore, before hospitalization, you need to buy an insurance certificate for only 1,722 soms,» the representative of the Ministry of Health said.
The deputy noted that the ministry did not conduct an information campaign among the population and that is why such problems arise.
The full validity of the compulsory medical insurance certificate begins five days after its payment only. This means that insurance status will be taken into account at the time citizens apply for medical care.
For example, if you do not have an insurance certificate and fail to pay for it five days before hospitalization, the patient will be required to pay the maximum co-payment amount.
You can pay for insurance through the terminals of QUICKPAY, Pay24, Onoi, Aiyl Bank, Bakai Bank, Mega telecom operator, the public services portal or in person at the territorial office of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (CMIF). You can check your insurance status on the CMIF website by entering your PIN (14-digit passport number).
