A kindergarten was closed in Karakol city for 14 days due to measles. The leading specialist of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision, Sultan Suranbayev, confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
He noted that this is an isolated case when a state preschool organization is closed for control of the disease.
«Two private kindergartens and one private school closed in Bishkek, where sick people were detected,» he said.
Sultan Suranbayev explained that entire educational organizations would be quarantined, if cases of measles are detected in more than two groups or classes. «If a sick person is detected in one group or class, they will be closed separately,» he said.
He recalled that vaccination of children aged 9 months to 7 years old against measles continues in the country.
It was previously reported that since the beginning of the year, more than 2,800 people got infected with measles in Kyrgyzstan, most of them children under four. The Ministry of Health then noted that in order to prevent the spread of infection, they sent sanitary instructions to prevent unvaccinated children from joining organized groups.
