The economy of Kyrgyzstan is growing due to the expansion of demand, inflation as well. The latest macroeconomic review of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) says.
Economists note that Kyrgyzstan’s GDP growth reached 3.3 percent in January — August 2023. This was facilitated by the cessation of the decline in industrial output (zero growth in January — August after a decline of 2 percent in January — July).
«The basis of growth continues to be the construction sector, wholesale and retail trade (supported by the growth of real wages and the dynamics of consumer lending). A decline in output in agriculture had a restraining effect. This is due to the dry weather this season and high performance a year earlier. According to our estimates, in November — December, the output of basic metals will enter the growth zone, which will support GDP growth up to 4.2 percent by the end of 2023,» the EDB noted.
