Kyrgyzstan's public debt grows by $107.73 million for 3 months

As a result of August, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external and internal) amounted to $5,846.41 billion (515,967.52 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance provided the data.

According to it, including $4,496.06 billion (396,794.73 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,350.34 billion (119,172.78 billion soms) is internal.

The public debt increased by $107.73 million for three months. External debt increased by $2.7 million, internal debt — by $96.88 million.

At the end of August, the public debt reached 55.66 percent of GDP.

More than half (51.8 percent) of the external debt are multilateral loans of Kyrgyzstan — $2,330.58 billion. The country owes other $2,111.59 billion (47 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. Of these, 38.5 percent of the republic’s external debt is debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of August amounted to $1,732.13 billion.
