Police detain Mirlan Ashimov who also renounced thief's ideas

The police detained Mirlan Ashimov, nicknamed Mirlan Issyk-Kulsky, who also renounced thief’s ideas. The press service of the Interior Ministry reported.

This summer a group of persons drew the attention of the employees of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. On the basis of the collected materials a criminal case was opened and further work was carried out.

The authorities had information that a previously convicted resident of Balykchy was involved in drug offenses and engaged in illegal storage and transportation of drugs.

During the investigation, one of the defendants in the criminal case Mirlan Ashimov made a video message on October 7, stating that he was an associate of the crime boss (Kamchi Kolbaev — Note of 24.kg news agency).

The Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that Mirlan Issyk-Kulsky has been previously convicted several times, has close ties with criminal authorities, and adheres to the ideology of the underworld.

He was detained on suspicion of illegal possession of drugs on October 14. A small batch of drugs was found and seized in his house.

After his detention, Mirlan Ashimov made a different video message, renouncing thief’s ideas and notions. He promises to abide by the laws of Kyrgyzstan.
