President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, together with other leaders of Central Asian countries, met with members of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy and representatives of leading German companies. Press service of the head of state reported.
Chairperson of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Katrina Klaas noted that German business is interested in expanding cooperation with the Central Asian region, in particular, in such areas as the expansion and production of green energy, implementation of large investment projects for the extraction of raw materials, and cooperation in the field of agriculture.
Sadyr Japarov stressed that the Central Asian region is rich in minerals, water and energy resources, as well as the main wealth of the countries — qualified, highly educated mobile human capital.
«The Kyrgyz Republic welcomes and fully supports the new format of cooperation Central Asia — Germany. This is the first of its kind mechanism for dialogue and close interaction with a member state and the locomotive of the European Union economy — Germany. We believe that this format should become an effective and reliable conductor of partnership in all areas and give an additional impetus to the development of our countries,» he noted.
The President invited German entrepreneurs to take part in the reconstruction and construction of new transport and logistics hubs not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also in the region as a whole.
«Another promising direction, in my opinion, could be cooperation in creating a laboratory for certification of agricultural products, introduction of the latest technologies, as well as mining and processing of rare earth elements in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic,» he said.
Sadyr Japarov recalled that in 2022 the country celebrated its 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with Germany. In 2012, Kyrgyzstan unilaterally introduced a visa-free regime for citizens of Germany. Today, citizens of 61 countries can enter the Kyrgyz Republic without a visa.
«We believe that the time has come to introduce simplified visa procedures for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. We hope that Germany will contribute to the start of this process. We also need to encourage and support our airlines in opening and expansion of regular direct flights between countries. I urge the German business community to consider the Kyrgyz Republic as a reliable business partner,» the head of state concluded.
