President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov took part in a meeting of the heads of state of Central Asia with Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The press service of the head of state reported.
The event took place in the format of a working breakfast. The Presidents of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also participated in it. Before the meeting, Sadyr Japarov left an entry in the Book of Honorable Guests.
In his speech, the President of Kyrgyzstan noted that the holding of the meeting on the initiative of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier indicates the growing interest of Germany in the further development of comprehensive cooperation with Central Asia. He drew attention to the fact that against the background of global geopolitical upheavals, the international community’s interest in the region has increased significantly. There is an active partnership in a regional format with Russia, China, India, and the Gulf countries.
«To date, Central Asia is a dynamically developing region with sustainable economic growth and new opportunities for development. It is rich in many types of minerals, water resources and different energy sources. All this provides a good opportunity for meaningful trade, economic and investment interaction, not limited to the adoption of political declarations,» Sadyr Japarov said.
