Highest growth of prices for non-food products in EAEU registered in Kyrgyzstan

In August 2023 compared to December 2022, the highest increase in prices for non-food products (8.2 percent) among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was registered in Kyrgyzstan. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.

It is noted that the highest inflation rate (6.6 percent) in the consumer sector of the economy during this period was registered in Kazakhstan. Prices for food products (5.9 percent) and services provided to the population (7.7 percent) increased the most there.

In August this year, in contrast to the previous month, there was an increase in consumer prices and tariffs in the EAEU member-states, except for Belarus. There they decreased by 0.3 percent. The highest inflation rate was in Kazakhstan — 0.7 percent. In Kyrgyzstan, the index of consumer prices and tariffs remained at the level of the previous month.
