National Phthisiology Center receives medical equipment from Japan

The Government of Japan handed over an electronic-optical converter, an artificial lung ventilation machine, an operating lamp, beds and bedside cabinets to the National Phthisiology Center. The press service of the Embassy of Japan in Kyrgyzstan reported.

The equipment is intended for the children’s department. Its cost is $150,437.

The handover took place under the grant program of the Japanese Government Grass Roots and Human Security with the participation of Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Bakyt Dzhangaziev, Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic Goda Hideki and Director of the National Phthisiology Center Abdullaat Kadyrov.

Bakyt Dzhangaziev thanked the Government of Japan for their contribution to the treatment and diagnosis of tuberculosis in the Kyrgyz Republic, noting that the fight against this disease is a priority in medicine in the Kyrgyz Republic. Ambassador of Japan noted the importance of tuberculosis treatment and strengthening the capacity of this center, which plays a key role in the fight against the disease.

The grant program Grass Roots and Human Security has been implemented in Kyrgyzstan since 1996. It is aimed at addressing Basic Human Needs through the efforts of local government bodies, primary health care institutions, primary education, non-governmental organizations and others. During this time, 187 projects have been implemented in Kyrgyzstan under this program for a total amount of $12,885,831.
