President of Kyrgyzstan meets with Prime Minister of Hungary

The President of Kyrgyzstan met with the Prime Minister of Hungary in Budapest as part of his working visit.

The parties discussed topical issues of Kyrgyzstan — Hungary strategic partnership, deepening cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Viktor Orban recalled that Sadyr Japarov’s visit to Hungary in February was successful and gave a great impetus to the development of bilateral relations. Positive achievements in a number of areas are seen to date in accordance with the agreements of the February visit.

He expressed gratitude to Sadyr Japarov for his efforts to develop bilateral cooperation; despite the geographical distance between the two countries, it is possible to promote relations between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary.

Speaking about deepening of Kyrgyz-Hungarian cooperation, Viktor Orban stressed the need to open a direct flight between the capitals of the two countries for the rapprochement of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Hungary. He also paid attention to cooperation in the field of education, noting with satisfaction the students from Kyrgyzstan studying in leading universities in Hungary under the quota.

Sadyr Japarov stressed that the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation with Hungary is a priority for Kyrgyzstan. According to the results of five months of 2023, a positive dynamics of trade turnover between the two countries compared to the same period last year was registered. It is important to maintain this dynamic and make efforts to further increase mutual trade.

Taking the opportunity, the President invited Viktor Orban to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan at a time convenient for him.

The parties expressed confidence that the strategic partnership between the two sides will continue to strengthen and expand in all areas of interaction.
