Public debt of Kyrgyzstan grows by $71.04 million for month

As a result of May, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external and internal) reached $5,738.67 billion (500,564.96 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance provided such data.

Including $4,493.36 billion (391,940.96 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,245.31 billion (108,624 billion soms) is internal one.

The public debt increased by $71.04 million for a month. External debt increased by $3.66 million, domestic debt — by $67.37 million.

As a result of June, the public debt reached 54 percent of GDP.

More than half (51.7 percent) of the external debt is multilateral loans of Kyrgyzstan — $ 2,324.87 billion. The country owes other $2,114.89 billion (47.1 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. At least 38.6 percent is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of June 2023 amounted to $1,732.52 billion.
