President of Kyrgyzstan meets with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the 10th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The parties exchanged views on the further expansion and deepening of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest. Sadyr Japarov noted that unprecedented positive changes have taken place in Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations in almost all areas of bilateral cooperation. He stressed the exceptional and important role of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in these joint achievements.

The President drew attention to the progressive growth observed in recent years in mutual trade between the two countries, expressed confidence that the issues discussed and the agreements reached will be fully implemented at the level of the governments of the two countries.

In turn, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov conveyed warm greetings from the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting that Sadyr Japarov was one of the first to congratulate the head of state on his successful victory in the presidential election. This is another evidence of the high level of relations between the two countries and the firm support of fraternal Kyrgyzstan. He also focused on the historic decisions made during the state visit of Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kyrgyzstan, in particular, the completion of the process of delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border.

During the conversation, Abdulla Aripov emphasized that Uzbekistan sincerely rejoices at the success of fraternal Kyrgyzstan, the sustainable development of the country’s economy, noting that the start of construction of the modern Asman eco-city is a vivid symbol of the successful development of the state.

During the meeting, the parties paid special attention to the implementation of joint plans and projects aimed at the benefit of the two peoples and strengthening of fraternal ties.
