Kyrgyzstan exported 4.8 tons of gold for $302.7 million in January — June 2023. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.

At the same time, only 64.4 kilograms of gold worth $609,600 were exported last year for the same period. At the same time, the data for January — May showed export of only 1.7 tons of gold.

This means that for just a month, deliveries increased 2.7 times.

Switzerland accounted for the main part of export of the precious metal — 3.9 tons for $250 million. It is interesting that the data for May showed gold exports in the amount of 1.2 tons.

Gold deliveries to Switzerland increased 3.2 times for 30 days.

The cost of gold sold to Switzerland is $63 per gram, or $1,960.4 per ounce. This is slightly higher than the value of the precious metal on the London Stock Exchange. As of August 14, an ounce of gold there cost $1,914.57.

Kyrgyzstan also exported 517.8 kilograms of gold to Hong Kong for $31.4 million and 334.9 kilograms to the UAE for $21.2 million.
