The Sverdlovsky District Court of Bishkek ruled against Daniyar Ibraev. He was charged with fraud and abuse of power by employees of commercial or other organizations.
He was detained in Bulgaria in January 2023. Daniyar Ibraev fled from Kyrgyzstan in 2019.
He was found guilty of fraud and sentenced to seven years in prison. The court applied probation supervision for three years in relation to Daniyar Ibraev. The convict was released from custody in the courtroom.
Daniyar Ibraev is also obliged to compensate several construction companies for material damage, which in total amounted to $19,821 million.
In February 2020, the son of ex-deputy Daniyar Ibraev was put on the international wanted list through Interpol.

Daniyar Ibraev appealed to the European Court of Human Rights and the competent authorities of Bulgaria, claiming that he was looking for a country that would respect human rights. The defense side appealed the extradition decision.
