Major Russian cargo company opens first branch in Kyrgyzstan

The multiservice operator of logistics services PEK opens its first branch in Kyrgyzstan and launches cargo transportation between Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The company announced.

It is noted that the company expects to increase cargo turnover in the country by 40 percent by the end of 2023. Its branch is located in Bishkek. Cargo transportation is available within the city and within a radius of 60 kilometers from the city. It is also planned to deliver groupage cargo from Russia to the Kyrgyz Republic and vice versa every week.

PEK will deliver goods through Kazakhstan, one-way journey lasts from five days. In particular, the transit period for transportation from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan is two days. The company consolidates cargo at its own international hub in Astana.

At year-end 2022, trade between Russia and Kyrgyzstan increased by 40.6 percent. Last year, the Russian Federation took the largest share in the export of goods from Kyrgyzstan — 44 percent, or $ 963 million, and took the second place after China among the country’s foreign trade partners.

According to the PEK, the Kyrgyz market is 90 percent represented by private cargo carriers, most of whom deliver goods on separate routes and cannot cover the full range of business needs.

«At the same time, the demand for the delivery of goods between Russia and Kyrgyzstan continues to grow. Therefore, by the end of 2023, we plan to increase the number of flights between Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as launch a new route of the country with China,» Sergei Moiseenkov, Franchising Director of PEK, said.

Within two years, it is planned to connect Kyrgyzstan to a single logistics network, which starts in Russia and passes through China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia with access to the Mediterranean coast of Turkey.
