First batch of Kazakh coal delivered to Bishkek HPP

Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev visited the Bishkek Heating and Power Plant (HPP) and got acquainted with the progress of preparatory work for the autumn-winter season. The Ministry of Energy reported.

The Bishkek HPP will need 1.5 million tons of coal for the upcoming heating season. The first batch of D-grade coal has been delivered from Shubarkul mine — 47 wagons with a total weight of 3,200 tons.

«An agreement was signed with the Kazakh company Innovation Hefest LLC for the import of 550,000 tons of coal. Its calorific value is at least 5,500 kilocalories per kilogram. The next batch of coal, 48 wagons, will be delivered on schedule in the coming days. Delivery will continue until March 2024. In addition, contracts were signed for the purchase of 600,000 tons of coal from Kara-Keche open pit and 50,000 tons — from Tash-Komur,» the Ministry of Energy said.
