New British Ambassador arrives in Bishkek

The new UK Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kyrgyzstan, Nicholas Bowler, shared his impressions of the country on Twitter.

According to him, the first week in Kyrgyzstan began with shashlyk and ended with kok-boru.

Nicholas Bowler posted that he rode a horse through the mountains and got a master class in kok-boru. He called the game powerful.

Nicholas Bowler took up his appointment in June 2023. From 2020 to June, he worked in Kyiv. He headed the Programs Department at the British Embassy.

From 2014 to 2015, he worked in Kabul as Governance Adviser.

The ex-ambassador of the UK to Kyrgyzstan Charles Garrett completed his diplomatic mission in November 2022.
