Artists of Basicolors art group together with graffiti artists from Germany, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan created a new large-scale mural on the theme of diversity in Bishkek. The art group reported.
The mural was created with the financial support of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Germany as part of a project for the exchange of young graffiti artists from Kyrgyzstan and Germany.
«The new mural measuring over 200 square meters is located in the yard of a multi-storey building at 40/4 Karalayev Street. Twelve graffiti artists from Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan had worked on it for two days. Each participant of the project saw the theme of diversity in their own way. The project took place in the format of a classic graffiti jam, when diverse artists get together and create a single large-scale picture on one topic,» the art group noted.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier took part in the work on the mural during his official visit to Kyrgyzstan. He painted his graffiti on the wall.
Basicolors added that the created street art gallery would serve as a decoration of public space in the city, and will also become an excellent photo zone for citizens and guests of the capital. The mural is open to the public.
