The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) revealed facts of violations in the procurement system at Alfa Telecom CJSC and detained its former general director. Press center of the SCNS reported.
It was revealed that the responsible persons of Alfa Telecom CJSC, colluding with private companies, created preferential conditions for them in advance, thereby ensuring their victory in ongoing tenders. At the same time, the same firms often won the tenders.
The examinations carried out revealed overpricing of the purchased equipment, as a result of which the state suffered multimillion damage.
On the basis of the evidence obtained, the former general director was detained, who is suspected of committing a crime under Article 245 (abuse of authority by employees of commercial or other organizations) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. He was placed in the temporary detention center of the SCNS. An investigation is underway.
According to open data, the detainee is Bazarkulov Azat Temirkanovich. He headed the company in 2021-2022 and from 2012 to 2018.
