The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and Rosatom will develop cooperation in the field of healthcare. Press center of the ministry reported.
Director General of Rosatom State Corporation Alexey Likhachev and the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Gulnara Baatyrova signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation in the field of non-energy use of nuclear technologies in medicine.
«The main goal of the partnership is to create a radiopharmaceuticals pharmacy and a center where advanced methods for diagnostics and treatment of oncological and other diseases will be applied. Within the framework of the agreement, the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and Rosatom are already cooperating in technological equipping and commissioning of the single-photon emission computed tomography department and radiopharmaceuticals pharmacy based on the National Center of Oncology and Hematology in Bishkek. This project is being implemented as part of the IAEA technology support program. Russian experts in the field of nuclear energy are assisting their Kyrgyz colleagues in preparing the necessary permits and providing free delivery of technetium-99 generators for equipment calibration,» the ministry said.
The parties plan to create a joint working group and develop a concept for the development of a modern centralized radiopharmaceutical pharmacy and a high-tech center for molecular imaging, radionuclide targeted therapy and theranostics. These innovative methods offer advanced approaches in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other socially significant diseases.
