Activity of Yakyn Inkar cell suppressed in Jalal-Abad

Activities of a cell of Yakyn Inkar religious extremist movement were suppressed in Jalal-Abad. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.

«Four active members of Yakyn Inkar cell were detained on May 26 within the framework of a criminal case initiated under part 2 of Article 331 (creation and financing of extremist organizations) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. They were engaged in propaganda and dissemination of extremist ideology in Jalal-Abad and Suzak district, carrying out illegal missionary activities,» the statement says.

Due to their religious views, the members of the cell categorically ignored the secular way of life. They forbade their children from attending schools, getting vaccinated and other medical procedures. During a search in the houses of the detainees, the religious extremist literature of Yakyn Inkar was found, and a forensic religious examination was scheduled based on the seized materials. All the detainees were placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
