«It is the time not only for change, but also for mutual support and complementarity, and not for the creation of sectoral obstacles, let alone the barriers,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in an expanded format.
According to him, for the successful operation of EAEU, it is necessary to minimize control measures at the internal borders of the Union and increase the transparency of regulation. For this purpose, an agreement was signed and entered into force on the use of navigation seals in the Union, which will also eliminate the risks of illegal movement of goods and increase the transit attractiveness of the EAEU member states.
«The success of implementation of this agreement will be measured as the goals set out in it are achieved, including the creation of favorable conditions for honest business, elimination of unnecessary barriers and bureaucracy in the control activities. I express the hope that the governments of our five countries will make every effort to achieve this goal,» he said.
According to the President, the EAEU countries are currently going through a difficult time and an uncertain foreign economic situation — this is the time to support each other.
«Last year showed how much we can unite in a difficult situation to achieve common goals. This is evidenced by the joint measures we have taken to maintain macroeconomic stability. As they say: «Prevention is better than treatment.» It is easy to close from each other, then it is difficult to open. I consider it necessary to enhance the interaction of the state bodies of our countries through the exchange of experience and necessary information,» Sadyr Japarov said.
At the same time, he believes that the Eurasian Economic Commission should assist government agencies in detection and prevention of obstacles in those areas where uniform regulation is applied. It is also necessary to assist in the work on strengthening the capacity of national services and bodies.
«I believe that this approach will reduce the level of barrier tenseness. The Eurasian Economic Union continues to demonstrate its effectiveness and ability to find compromise solutions. We, as the heads of the states of the Union, have to develop and strengthen our association for the benefit of our states and peoples,» Sadyr Japarov concluded.
