Some 42 students got poisoned with an unknown substance at a school in Kochkor-Ata, Jalal-Abad region. The Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Following the order of the city administration, medical staff gave a lecture to 100 students of grades 6-7-8.
Half an hour after the lecture began, four students who were present at the lecture felt unwell and began to lose consciousness.
The teachers called the ambulance. 42 students were taken to the General Medical Practice Center in Kochkor-Ata. At least 14 children of them were discharged home, 28 are under medical supervision. The condition of the students is stable.
The relevant state authorities are conducting an investigation, as a result of which information will be provided.
At the direction of the local administration and the Center for Disease Prevention and Surveillance, the classes have been postponed from May 12 to May 20, from May 13 to May 25. Disinfection work will be carried out at the school on May 12-13.
About 1,132 students study at this school.
