As a result of February 2023, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,598.9 billion (489,439.29 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.
Including $4,494.37 billion (392,884.43 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,104.53 billion (96,554.86 billion soms) is internal one.
Over the month, the level of public debt decreased by $32,17 million. At the same time, external debt decreased by $26.3 million and the domestic debt — by $5.86 million.
As a result of February 2023, the public debt amounted to 52.8 percent of GDP.
Over a half of the external debt of the republic (50.4 percent) is multilateral loans — $2,266.3 billion. The country owes other $2,175.35 billion (48.5 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. At least 39.7 percent is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of February 2023 amounted to $1,782.82 billion.
