Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan Roza Otunbayeva met with Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Abdul Kabir in Kabul. The parties agreed to continue contacts, Ariana News reports.
According to the media, Abdul Kabir said that the country’s government has fulfilled all the conditions previously set by the UN, and it was time to admit it. According to him, the Islamic Emirate wants to actively interact with the international community, but the UN must lift the sanctions imposed on the state and its officials (who in fact are the leaders of the Taliban movement).
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that ISIS is indeed a global threat, but the Islamic Emirate has eliminated this group in Afghanistan. He also noted that the state believes in dialogue, intends to adhere to an inclusive governance system, but wants appointments to be made on the basis of experience.
